There’s a growing fascination with open baffle speakers and their design, and for good reason. This new breed of high-performance drivers marks a shift in both sonic philosophy and physical presence. Unlike traditional closed-box systems, open baffle speakers are designed to breathe with the space around them. Their large, flat baffles are not just acoustic surfaces — they are deliberate design gestures that celebrate the speaker as both an object and a performance instrument.

What sets open baffle speakers apart is how they engage with the room. Rather than containing or isolating the sound, the design invites interaction — allowing the rear wave of the driver to reflect naturally into the space. The result is a soundstage that feels immersive and dimensional, with a sense of scale and airiness that’s difficult to achieve through conventional enclosures. Music isn’t simply projected, it floats, expands, and hangs in the room with remarkable transparency.

At 100dB sensitivity, these speakers are also incredibly efficient, making them an ideal partner for low-powered valve amplifiers. That pairing reveals an entirely different layer of the listening experience, rich in harmonic texture, with a fluid dynamic range that feels both precise and human. The speakers perform not with brute force, but with nuance and clarity, making even the subtlest musical moments feel intentional and alive.

Designed for those who value both acoustic integrity and visual impact, this speaker is as much about presence as it is about performance. It redefines what a listening experience can be — not just heard, but felt in the room. A true convergence of design, engineering, and sonic performance.

Exceptional sound begins with structure. In any loudspeaker, rigidity is essential, it’s what allows the driver’s energy to be transmitted cleanly into the air, without loss or distortion. For open baffle designs, this principle becomes even more critical. Without an enclosed cabinet to support and contain the driver, the structural integrity must be carried entirely by the flat plane of the baffle itself, a challenge that demands thoughtful engineering and material consideration.

While many open baffle designs resolve this by relying on thick, heavy materials to provide the necessary stiffness, our approach is different. Instead, we’ve engineered a refined open torsion box construction — a system that becomes immensely strong once assembled, without resorting to excess mass. This structural strategy not only ensures acoustic precision, but also allows for a visually lighter, more architectural expression of form.

On the reverse side of the baffle, a grid of “cells” contributes further to performance. These geometries aren’t just for stiffness, they help to delay the out-of-phase energy emitted from the back of the driver, reducing destructive interference between front and rear waves. The result is a more coherent, articulate sound with improved spatial integrity — particularly in the midrange, where detail and emotional nuance reside.

By resolving structural performance with elegant design logic, we’ve created a speaker that doesn’t just look intentional — it behaves with intention. Every line, plane, and joinery decision contributes directly to the listening experience.
